When and if Merc Aero Services recieves a contract job, it will then be open to bidding by the freelance pilots of the company, and it will be listed under the hub it originates at.
Contract jobs have a large payout to the company, and the pilot is paid per hour of flightime. Contracts are awarded to the pilot with the most reasonable bid on hourly pay, IE whoever bids the lowest amount. However, rank is also a determining factor so even if a new hire bids the best and lowest hourly price, a captain will still win the contract over the new hire.
Contracts will also be awarded to the pilot with the most reasonable aircraft for completion of such a job. So, if someone is bidding on a contract job that requires an amphibious aircraft, and all they have is a wheeled aircraft, they can expect staff to laugh at them and award the contract to someone else.
However, contracts are a double edged sword, usually requiring twice the amount of work as an ad-hoc job, and with a deadline that if isn't completed, will penalize the company quite a bit.
