Pilots should set up their FsPassengersX add-on as follows to allow for realistic simulations:
Company Name: Merc Aero Services
Career and financial modes off (so you may fly the plane you want immediately and not have to earn money for the add-on)
Company Callsign (for flight numbers) MKA
Failure Settings: To pilot's taste.
Flaps Penalty Setting: In real-world bush operations, especially on short field landings, the norm is to generally enter approach to the field with full flaps, but upon touchdown flaps are raised fully to add more weight to the wheels, allowing better braking. In FsPassengers if you raise your flaps while still on roll-out you will be penalized severely...it is annoying and I believe changing this setting to “off” will stop that from happening.
Any other settings should be done as the pilot chooses.
+For Cargo Ops:
FsPassengers assumes that all planes are in their passenger carrying configuration, and some of Merc Aero Services jobs will be cargo operations. For example, if you have a Cessna 172 and you find a job carrying 700Lbs of cargo somewhere, you will fire up FSP and go to the load screen. The 172 only has about 200Lbs of cargo space in it's baggage compartment, so you cannot load the desired amount.
There are 2 options to remedy this:
1) The pilot, foregoing realism, does not load cargo weight through FSP but starts an empty flight just to obtain an after flight report for the PIREP and flies the route.
2) The pilot, seeking more realism loads his/her plane through FSX's aircraft payload menu and manually loads each station and fuel, THEN starts an FSP flight.
